Use transparent text boxes to frame your device information without obstructing detail behind it. This works well when the diagram becomes busy with links and you find yourself running out of space to include device information.
Step 1
Choose your shape to put info into, such as switch name and IP address. Give it a stroke color like black or a dark gray.
Step 2
Go to Fill>Fill Options. Select solid fill, white background, and between 20-30% transparency.
Step 3
Add text infomation. You should always take the longest named device and base the shape on that first. This way you will have uniformly shaped text boxes throughout the diagram.
Step 4
Place text next to shape, making sure it is at the top layer. You can still see shapes, names, and links behind the text box.
